SUPPORT

Something wrong, or a question? Email chat@fluxsupports.com, and say which iPhone or iPad and which iOS or iPadOS version you have (Settings → General → About).

How do I play?

Slide a row left or right, or a column down; it wraps around. Three of a colour in a line clears, with every touching block of that colour. The run ends when the board fills up. The game's own HOW TO PLAY screen, and the tutorial on your first run, show the rest.

Flashing lights

FLUX has quick flashes of light as blocks pop and fall, and a very small number of people can have a seizure from flashing lights. To make it calmer, turn on Dim Flashing Lights in your iPhone's or iPad's Settings (under Accessibility), and turn EFFECTS off in FLUX's Settings; with Dim Flashing Lights on, FLUX (version 1.4 and later) also shows no ads, since it cannot check other companies' ads for flashing light. Stop playing if you feel unwell. The terms of use have the full warning.

Where is my progress kept?

On your device. Your backups may include it, depending on your backup settings; FLUX has no cloud sync or guaranteed recovery. Deleting the app deletes it.

How do I start over?

Delete the app and install it again: your progress goes with it. A run in progress can be abandoned any time with NEW RUN on the home screen.

Game Center

FLUX's worldwide leaderboard is Apple's Game Center. Sign in to Game Center in the device’s Settings app to see it and to have your scores appear on it. GAME CENTER is on in FLUX Settings; turn it off there to stop sending scores. Everything else in FLUX works without it.

Ads

From version 1.4, FLUX is free with ads: a banner at the bottom of the screen while you play, kept clear of the board, a full-screen ad after each ADVENTURE level you pass from JUPITER (the third planet) on, and now and then one when you finish a run. You can also choose to watch an ad for one more hint once yours are gone (up to three a run), or for a BIG BANG power piece (one a run): the reward comes once the ad has played to its end. A full-screen ad never comes during a run or a level unless you choose one. They come from Google AdMob, are never personalized, and are rated for all ages. ADS in FLUX's Settings says what an ad is chosen by and has REPORT AN AD; or email chat@fluxsupports.com with "Ad" in the subject, what it showed and about when, and we will block it where we can. With Dim Flashing Lights on, or with no internet connection, no ads show. The privacy policy says what Google receives when an ad shows.

Purchases and refunds

FLUX is free and sells nothing: no purchases and no subscriptions. Future versions may add purchases; any purchase would go through Apple, and Apple handles refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com. The terms of use say how purchases, subscriptions and virtual items would work.

Privacy

The developer collects no gameplay data unless you say yes to anonymous game stats, and even then nothing that identifies you. FLUX uses no cookies and does not track you. Apple provides optional Game Center, and from version 1.4 Google AdMob the ads, never personalized. The privacy policy has the details, and the terms of use the rest.

Accessibility

FLUX aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA wherever a game played by dragging allows. Its text meets AA contrast in every look, every button has a name and a role for VoiceOver, and every colour has its own face, so colour is never the only clue. FLUX follows your device's Reduce Motion and Dim Flashing Lights, and its Settings can turn off SOUND, MUSIC, VIBRATION (on iPhone) and EFFECTS (the shake, the bursts and the sky shows). On iPad it fits the screen in any orientation and window size.

What we know falls short: the board is played by dragging and cannot be played with VoiceOver or Voice Control, and FLUX does not follow your device's text size. If anything in FLUX gets in your way, email chat@fluxsupports.com with "Accessibility" in the subject.

For parents

FLUX has no chat, no purchases and no account; if a future version adds any of them, the privacy policy will say so first. From version 1.4 it shows ads (above), the same for every player: contextual, rated for all ages and never personalized, with no advertising ID. Where a state's law asks a parent first (Texas now) and Apple's software on the device says it applies, a child's device shows no ads until a parent agrees to the update when Apple asks them. Game Center, which is Apple's, shows a player's nickname and scores to other players; Apple's Screen Time can limit it, and GAME CENTER and SHARE ANONYMOUS STATS can be turned off in FLUX's Settings. To see or delete anything your child sent us, email chat@fluxsupports.com. The privacy policy's Children section has the rest.

Reporting a security problem

If you find a way FLUX could put a player or their device at risk, email chat@fluxsupports.com with "Security" in the subject: what you found, and the steps to see it. Please do not send anyone's personal information, and allow reasonable time for a fix before telling others. FLUX has no accounts and no servers of its own, and its anonymous game stats identify no one, so the game holds no player data that could be exposed.

If you believe FLUX or this website uses your work without permission, email chat@fluxsupports.com with "Copyright" in the subject; the terms of use say what to include. For a disagreement about FLUX, the terms' If we disagree says how we will work it out.
